 As
anyone who has been to a TechFest knows, we make full use of closed-circuit
video cameras, remote monitors and video projectors in order to display
components, sub-assemblies and schematic diagrams to everyone in the room.
This year, I added a couple of really high-tech components to the mix.
One is a robotic camera operator that allows me to control the "master"
video camera. The other is a hard-drive based video recorder that allowed
me to switch between the master camera and the close-up camera and to record
the whole thing as I went along.
The happy result is that I now have much of TechFest 10 recorded and I am now able to offer "TechFest 10 - Live!" on DVD. Not every presentation at TechFest was recorded but I have my entire, seven and a half hour presentation on monitor repair as well as presentations on JCM bill validators, the MEI SC66 bill validator, FutureLogic printers, the MicroCoin coin validator and the IDX coin acceptor. These are all excellent presentations by the gaming industry's top technical trainers. Those who attended the fast-paced, three days of technical training will be able to review what they have learned and pick up on the things they missed.
